Jo Sabel Courtney for VT State House of Representatives

Jo for Stowe: A New Beginning

I am Jo Sabel Courtney and I am running for State Representative. I care deeply about Stowe and the values we represent: community, compassion, and equity for all.

I’ve spent 30 years in Stowe and raised my son here. We moved to Stowe on April Fool’s Day, 1990, renting a little house on School Street behind the elementary school and up the street from the Stowe Free Library.

I’ve spent a lifetime caring for the people of Stowe, bringing them joy through music and the performing arts, and supporting them through cancer survivorship as a co-founder of the Stowe Weekend of Hope, now in its 19th year. I’ve supported Stowe area businesses, highlighting their contributions around the world and through earned media.

Vermonters are experiencing tremendous uncertainty due to the pandemic crisis. Compounding this experience for so many Vermonters – including Stowe residents – are underlying social inequities that prevent Vermonters from thriving. Stowe is my home and I care deeply about a future that serves us all. Everyone is entitled to Social, Economic, and Environmental Justice, and I am ready to advocate for those values for all Vermonters.

We will experience renewed joy. Join me in helping to create a New Beginning for Stowe.
